GOVERNOR REJECTS MOE ORDER TO REPLACE ACTING EDUCATION DIRECTOR

Al-Sumaria News, Feb. 21: On Feb. 21, Kirkuk Governor Najm al-Din Kareem, in his letter No. 609, rejected Ministry of Education’s (MOE’s) order to replace Acting Education Director, Mr. Farhan Salih. “Mr. Salih has been efficient and faithful during his fouryear tenure. He worked hard to accommodate 85,000 internally displaced and university students in Kirkuk schools. The order was not in coordinated with the Provincial Council (PC) or Administration, and it is not in compliance with the laws in force. After deliberation with the PC, it was decided to keep Mr. Salih in his post, and the ministerial order will not be followed,” said Mr. Kareem. The Arab representatives in the local government objected to the dismissal order and demanded the Education Director be kept.
